Specification 

A set bead frame steel access panel (also called beaded frame access panel) is a specialized, flush-mount inspection hatch for drywall/plasterboard walls and ceilings, built with a steel beaded frame designed to accept taping, jointing, and skim-plastering for a seamless, hidden finish (only the door face remains visible post-install). It provides safe, repeatable access to hidden MEP systems (plumbing, electrical, HVAC) for maintenance, while being robust and suitable for commercial/residential projects.

 

Set bead frame: The frame has a perforated/beaded edge (not a protruding flange) that keys into the plaster/tape-joint system. It's meant to be fully skimmed over, eliminating visible frame lines. Usually made of galvanized or powder-coated mild steel (1.0-1.2mm typical) for rigidity and corrosion resistance.

 

Door: Often a steel-backed plasterboard panel, or solid steel; fitted with concealed hinges and various locks (push-lock, cam lock, touch latch).

 

Installation: Fits into a stud/joist opening; the frame is secured, then taped, jointed, and plastered flush with the surrounding wall/ceiling. No surface-mounted flange to disrupt the finish.
